What do you do after you work your regular eight hour work day? If you are trying to build a barn around your work schedule and you see more rain in the forecast, you go home and settle into cutting 2x4x12's into 2x4x10's. These get screwed into place as 2nd floor support beams. Then, you hoist plywood boards eight feet in the air and secure them with screws. If you are Sean, you do most of the heavy lifting and all the dangerous climbing. If you are Sonja, you do lots of directing from the safety of the ground; pass lumber, screws, power drill, tape measure, and the occasionally needed hammer up to Sean. I, also, played the vitally important role of keeping Sean safe from Jedi's attempts to knock the ladder out from under his feet by distracting him with sweet feed and horn scratching.
Two hours later, dark is setting in, but there is a serviceable 8ftx8ft start to the new floor to show for tonight's effort and two very tired would-be farmers, too!
Good night, friends!
