Lally Broch Farm
Our latest batches of home-made, hand-mixed, poured, and cut soups are very nearly finished curing and are ready to use. I really love how these turned out. This batch was not made with our goat's milk. Instead, I used a recipe that called for coconut oil, olive oil, safflower oil, and flax seed oil. (I used organic oils in our soaps.) This produced a really creamy soap that is great for moisturizing winter chapped or farm chaffed hands and body. This soap lathers beautifully, especially when used with a loofah in the shower or bath.
I, personally, do not like over-powering fragrance. But, I listened to the feedback regarding scents from past bars of soap I made. Almost unanomously the call was, "more scent!" These bars were scented using essential oils of lavender and cucumber-melon. They are delightfully fragrant, but not perfume-y. I did not use any colorant. The soaps are a lovely, creamy, ivory color.
And, here are the wrapped, finished soaps. I played with the presentation of my bars of soap; leaving my soaps unwrapped, partially wrapping them, etc. Finally, I decided- I think they look pretty in simple paper wraps- like little presents. ♥
Now, for the fun: We want to send one reader a gift of two- 3 oz (approximately) bars of Lally Broch Soap.
